About the role

As a Senior Product Manager, you will drive real change with product roadmaps that unlock new revenue streams and redefine Zai’s future. 

This is a rare opportunity to lead from the front and shape up your career journey in one of Australia’s most exciting payment organisations. 

The Senior Product Manager will report to the Head of Product & Client Solutions to help drive several initiatives that will influence Zai’s future products and break new ground as we rapidly expand in Australia and other geographies.

What expected in your new role

  • Commercially driven - curious and seeks to understand factors impacting commercial decisions and the distinction between product/project management.

  • Ability to understand complex systems, emerging technologies, regulatory challenges,  payment rules and competitive markets and the wider impact of these.

  • Comfortable communicating with developers/engineers, technical architects, senior management, operational support teams, product owners/managers and business customers.

  • Research and preparation of business cases/opportunity assessments and product/initiative commercialisation plans, based on deep and broad commercial analysis.

  • Ability to listen to customers, understand their needs and problems and clearly and simply articulate complex technical and business concepts as required.

  • Ability to professionally take the lead in meetings with internal stakeholders, customers and external payment partners in a manner that engenders confidence in the technical and compliance aspects of our products and broader commercial capabilities and values of Zai.

  • Facilitate requirements/information gathering and deep engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders through a variety of means including relationship building, data analysis, research, workshops and interviews.

  • Process and payment workflow understanding and related ability to define, optimise and clearly and professionally document and communicate these.

 Experience and knowledge

  • 3+ years experience working within a modern B2B product team in an Agile environment, including APIs.

  • Experience working with financial products and or payments and digital business models with modern API-based architecture. 

  • Experience with and passion for data-driven decisions, metrics and using visualisations to effectively communicate data, logic, processes, recommendations outcomes etc.

The ideal candidate should have: 

  • A relevant Tertiary qualification and or deep experience in relevant fields such as Technology, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics/analytics or related industries.

  • Experience working with B2B sales teams and risk and compliance teams.

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools like Looker, Tableau, advanced Excel, SQL and related applications.
