This role is a hybrid role, 2 days a week minimum in our office in Dublin 4. This is a full time permanent role.
Role Purpose
The Payments Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance and strategic leadership of the Payments Team, supporting our global peer-to-peer foreign exchange platform. This role plays a key part in delivering a best-in-class international and domestic payments service to a rapidly growing global client base. Operating within a high-growth, regulated environment, the Payments Lead must demonstrate strong leadership, operational rigour, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage overall performance of the Payments Team, ensuring high-quality service and operational excellence.
Oversee the accurate and timely settlement of payments and deposits, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
Mentor, coach, and develop team members, identifying strengths and growth areas and creating tailored development plans.
Drive performance improvement through the introduction of best practices, ongoing feedback, and structured support plans when needed.
Deliver clear and effective team communications through daily team meetings, one-on-ones, and updates on individual and team performance.
Coordinate and execute team training and development plans, working in partnership with People & Culture.
Ensure all Payments tasks and activities are executed to the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Manage and strengthen relationships with banking and non-banking partners, ensuring a resilient and responsive payment network.
Represent the Payments function in new product and service development initiatives.
Drive and lead projects to improve operational efficiency and scalability of payment processes.
Provide hands-on support during periods of team absence or operational peaks.
Collaborate with other teams (e.g. Risk, Compliance, Investigations) on ad hoc requests, regulatory audits, or case escalations.
Contribute to the continuous development of payments and deposits processes in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
Degree and 3+ years of experience in foreign exchange, money remittance, or a payments/settlements/reconciliation leadership role OR 5+ years of relevant payments industry experience
Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and performance development
Deep understanding of international payment systems and related compliance frameworks
Exposure to project management, treasury functions, and/or process improvement methodologies
